EXID has three former members: Yuzi (Jung Yuji 정유지), who was the group's original main vocalist, and Dami (Kang Hyeyeon 강혜연) and Haeryung (Na Haeryung 나해령), who were both sub-vocalists. Prior to debuting, Haeryung and Yuzi were trainees under JYP Entertainment. Shortly after the group's debut, Haeryung left to pursue an acting career and the other two left to continue their studies. The three re-debuted as members of BESTie approximately a year later, with Dami assuming her birth name, Hyeyeon, and with Yuzi adopting the stage name UJi.
